ABOUT PATRICIA GRAS

Patricia Gras is a 28 year Emmy award winning veteran television and video journalist. With a career trail including challenging roles as producer, writer, host, and contributor of content for television and web media, Patricia Gras has a passion for producing media that entertains, enlightens, informs and gets results. 

Patricia Gras has been honored with over 170 broadcasting awards, including 7 regional Emmys, 17 national Tellys and numerous local, national and international production awards.   Her proven experience stems from hands-on broadcasting and production experience as Senior and Executive Producer, On Air Host, Writer, Creative Director, Unit Production Manager, Cameraperson, FCP Editor and Director. Over the years she has had working affiliations with PBS, Fox, Mundo Fox, Telemundo, NBC About.com, and Creditcards.com.


From the nationally-broadcast Living Smart with Patricia Gras (Houston PBS), to her work on the popular, Houston-based show Latina Voices, Patricia brings world-class reporting experience and exceptional media savvy. She has hosted programs like the weekly prime time news and public affairs show Almanac, the political show, Capitol Report in the 1990's to the award-winning show Connection, Weeknight Edition, Houston Have Your Say Town Hall Meetings and Galveston La Isla Bonita.  

Patricia has visited over 50 different countries, speaks 5 languages, and brings a wealth of cross-cultural perspective to every project. She holds a bachelors in Economics from Texas A and M University and master's degrees from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona (USA), ESADE Business School in Barcelona (Spain) and Columbia University in New York City (USA).   
Patricia Gras' notable interviews include former Presidents George Bush and Jimmy Carter; former Secretaries of State James Baker and Madeleine Albright; and international dignitaries such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus, Jody Williams, Lech Walensa, and Queen Anne of Romania; as well as many emerging artists, and people with extraordinary stories to tell. She also hosted the unprecedented national PBS TV special of Nelson Mandela in Houston Texas in 1991.

On April 2013, The Association of Hispanic Media Professionals honored Patricia Gras with a lifetime achievement award for her work as an Emmy award winning journalist and long time contributions to the Houston community.
